A survey by the Financial Services Authority revealed that 74% of people find money the hardest subject to talk about, and 31% regularly go over their overdraft limit. A mintel report concluded that there are around 5.4 million adults with unsecured debts in excess of £20.000.

We advise the client on all solutions available, explaining the advantages and disadvantages of each. We will then manage the debt strategically, dealing with creditors, officials and, if necessary, the courts, allowing our client to see that there is light, and life, at the end of the debt tunnel.

For individuals and families facing debt like this, the stress affects health, relationships and work effectiveness. Debt can lead to marriage breakdown, job loss, even suicide.

However, there are a range of options to reduce and eliminate debt. There are nine-to-five call centre style debt solution services promising to help people in debt but they almost always offer a single solution: an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA), debt consolidation or creditors arrangement. That is not a great service, primarily because everybody's debt problems are different and the situation is often more complex than it first appears.
